Quantitative Phytochemical Profile, Antioxidant and Lipase Inhibitory Potential of Leaves of Momordica charantia L. and Psoralea corylifolia L

Medicinal plants have recently gained popularity and are now commonly used to treat a variety of diseases. The aim this research was evaluate antioxidant anti-lipase activities two medicinal in vitro. solvents like chloroform, acetone 70 % ethanol were extract the dried leaves Momordica charantia Psoralea corylifolia. Folin-Ciocateu’s reagent aluminum chloride colorimetry process determine total phenolic flavonoid contents, respectively. Further extracts screened for vitro activity, analyzed by 2,2-diphenyl- 1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity ferric reducing power assay. Using pancreatic lipase enzyme inhibition, potential studied compared that reference drug orlistat. phytochemical analysis revealed had highest content (89.96±0.29 mg gallic acid equivalents/g dry extract; 82.55±0.03 quercetin extract, respectively) all plant examined. exhibited substantial potential, with IC50 values 96.85±0.04 ?g/ml 99.43±0.06 ?g/ml, Anti-lipase found extracts. charantia, on other hand, demonstrated strong an value 27.70±0.15 (p< 0.01). standard orlistat (18.15±0.34 ?g/ml) showed greatest activity. Overall, leaf greater than corylifolia be powerful antioxidants inhibitors. A daily supplement these plants, according our findings, can aid reduction obesity.
